I totally bombed Assignment 1 😣 and need help! Here is the feedback I received: HiTanisha – You earned a grade of D on this assignment (65%). Specific feedback is provided below.

I am on the fence for your project selection. For assignments 2 and 3 you will use this same project but be asked to discuss how you will address shortening the project timeline or dealing with resource challenges. Your project needs to be complex enough to address these topics in future assignments.

You need to provide more specificity on your project’s goals and objectives. Remember they are different. My video provides more details.

Your discussion of the project’s structure is incomplete. I was looking for a discussion on a dedicated are part-time workforce and if they come from a matrix, functional or projectized organization? The video describes this further.

You met the minimum requirements for addressing key customers and stakeholders. I was looking for a minimum of two each. I was also looking for a discussion on their roles and impact to the project. Every organization is at the mercy of external factors that might damage its reputation. Scandals and unexpected events can easily jeopardize the future of an organization. Since, all students in this class will eventually work for an organization upon graduation it is important to familiarize ourselves with crisis communication. This might be what saves your future employment.

Our research will focus on three main components to ensure everyone is fully equipped to deal with a business crisis communication. It will explain the choice of words to make, the stand a company should take, and how to effectively convey its stand.

Demonstrate crisis management.

In this section, we will look at some monitoring tools you can use to allow the business to adapt to the developing crisis. Properly adapting your holding statements to the specifics of the situation and making sure you are conveying the appropriate answer to your stakeholders. We will elaborate with an example of companies who have had both good and bad business crisis communication practices in the past. More specifically, we will look at Joe Fresh in 2013 with the collapse of a factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh for a good example and we will look at the Volkswagen emission scandal in 2015 for a bad example.

Find the oldest person you can interview, and bring history alive. It can be a family member, neighbor, someone at church, friend of friend, nursing home, someone in a social setting, on a train… challenge yourself; go on a hunt.

Some IDEAS of questions to ask them:
Did they go to dances? With who? Where? What kind of dance did they do, what was the rage? Favorite band? Favorite songs? Favorite film? What was the fashion? -And why? What kind of cars did they drive? What were the hot political concerns? What did they consider “bad”? If they had one thing that they could have changed, what would that be? What are some favorite memories? etc…. Can they offer advice?

Ask them questions that interest you, and see where this goes. How was it different from today? Imagine what they experienced. Reflect on reversing roles.

In conclusion write a couple of robust reflective paragraphs of your connection of this experience and include a self-assessment of what it would be like to have lived in this era.
