There are four videos for this week’s discussion. Watch all videos before beginning your discussion, because this helps you to think critically through your approach to the discussion. Because this board is summative, your answer is lengthy and well developed, and will include questions to other students rather than simple comments.

Thinking through the lessons that we see in this week’s videos, tie it all together toward sustaining change. What happens when YOU are the barrier to change? How do we recognize the problem when the problem is us? How do the videos help us learn to create and sustain change? As you look back over the term, what are the lessons that you believe will contribute to sustained change for your change initiative? What pieces, specifically, did you put in place to keep the initiative on track and to meet its intended outcome? Did you create a linked mission and vision to direct the change initiative? Did you include a communication plan to facilitate the change? As a change agent, what perspective is the best fit for you personally? Did you play to your own strengths? Did you use any of the many tools in the text to guide your change initiative? For example, did you assess readiness for change?

How did the discussion boards and other assignments contribute to your personal changes? Did you perceive change in yourself? How will you sustain that change? Tie it all together to explain the lessons that stick with you as you complete your last case and prepare to complete the course. Tell us about Change Management.

Directions

To receive credit for the discussion board, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Do NOT describe or restate the content of the discussion reading or video. Instead, choose one or two points that you find interesting/important and elaborate on those points in your discussion. Do not answer the questions in the topic as a list. Answer in essay form.
2. A minimum response is 300 words.
3. There are several articles in Course Materials and Web Links that you can, and should, use as references to support your discussions.
4. You must respond to, at least, two (2) other students in class in their discussion boards as well as any questions and comments from the professor or other students. You are required to actively communicate with other students in this class. You should also respond to all students that reply to your original post.
5. The initial post for each week’s discussion board is due by Wednesday, 11:59 p.m., of every week when a discussion board is due. Your response to the threads of other students is due no later than Saturday, 11:59 p.m. of each week when a discussion board is due. That leaves Sunday for you to respond to those who replied to your original post.
6. There are no discussion boards in week 1 or week 9, because these are the weeks for preparation and the final exam. Discussions can be opened in any other weeks if we need them.
7. I always suggest that students write their discussion board posts in Word or other word processing software rather than directly into Canvas. This allows you to save your work and to make corrections before you post your work publicly. Canvas has, regrettably, been known to eat some thoughtful and insightful responses simply because the response did not load correctly.
8. Below, you will see a checklist that will help you ensure that your work meets graduate standards and decreases the likelihood that you will suffer oversights.

For this assignment, select a specific business; it can be one you work for or, better yet, one you would like to work for in the future. Make sure the company you select meets the following criteria: It must have a written code of ethics and operate at the benevolent level of CSR (corporate social responsibility).

Search online for the company’s website, and review its code of ethics and its report on its corporate social responsibility programs; be sure to identify any of its sustainability practices—this may be a separate link.

Write a report on your chosen company’s code of ethics and CSR. In your report, address whether you believe that leaders of organizations have a duty to all stakeholders or just to stockholders. Present a business argument either for or against corporate social responsibility.

Be sure to include an introduction. Your report must be at least two pages in length, not counting the title or reference pages. Adhere to APA style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.

As an international manager, your effectiveness can be greatly influenced by your understanding of cultural differences and their impact on staff. Hofstede’s Model of National Culture and Project GLOBE (pp. 583–585 in your textbook) details dimensions that help managers identify cultural differences within countries.

Write a one-page reflection paper about how this research has increased your understanding of different cultures and how you would use this understanding if managing staff who would be taking on expatriate assignments.

If outside sources are used, please adhere to APA style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.
