risks-and-budgets

Project risks are evident in every project. This assignment will build off some of the risks you identified in your initial project plan from Unit 1 as well as work to estimate the cost for the project.

Complete the following and submit as a Microsoft Excel Document:

  1. Risk Analysis.
    • Create a sample risk analysis (like the one offered on Page 253) containing at least six risks (build off the ones you identified in the Unit 1 Project Plan as well as offered in the Unit 3 discussion).
    • Compute at least one quantitative risk.
    • How might you mitigate each of these six risks?
  2. Cost Estimate.
    • Create a cost table noting the wage rate of the personnel and how many weeks the person is needed. Use the personnel you chose in Unit 2. You should use an overhead rate of 40%.

ineffective-pain-management

In the Unit 4 IP, you wrote a paper that described how your original ideas and plans for your dissertation research were refined and changed once you came to Symposium and attended the workshops and discussed them with the faculty. Now you need to create a draft of your dissertation research plan that specifically spells out your current ideas for your topic/title and Trio of problem, purpose and research question. Add to this what you know about the gap in the literature related to your problem, what you are working on as your Conceptual Framework (you can describe in words or produce a graphic), and your hypothesis and ideas for your research methodology.

Be sure to add a conclusion paragraph to your paper to sum things up!

While you may refine these elements of the Dissertation Framework over the next year of your program, preparing this document will be very helpful as you continue to work on your annotated bibliography and literature review. In the RES861 course, you will be preparing your Prospectus, which includes these elements. Starting with this paper, you will have a plan to continue making progress over the next year and be ready for RES861.

The cover and reference pages are not included in the 2–3 pages of this paper.

All submissions must be in APA format using Times New Roman and 12-point font.

Essay 3 Prompt: Argumentation Challenging the Single Story Introduction It is our human nature to stereotype, to assume, to make generalizations, and to oversimplify. Often, we make judgements about others, others who may not be like us, creating what Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Adichie calls a single story of someone. According to Adichie, we create a single story when we “show a people as one thing, as only one thing, over and over again, and that is what they become.” In her TED talk, “The Danger of a Single Story,” Adichie warns that if we hear only that single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding. This paper will seek to confront and challenge the idea of single story. Your task will be to think of a single story that has perpetrated your life (the single story of Iraqi refugees, or that of Mexican immigrants, or that of teenage mothers, or African American males, or community college students, or any other). While a single story of any of these exists, we know that there is more to it than that. Like Adichie warns, these single stories have been told over and over again, but it is now time for us to break them apart, to look closely at what is being missed, to learn (like Adichie did) the complexities within the story. To do so, you will trace the single story’s origins and its spread into the mainstream with the purpose of showing your readers what the mainstream leaves out, what more is there to know, what else is true. Understanding the complexity of single stories is essential to effectively operating in our diverse world. A main reason most students enroll in college is to prepare themselves for a career. English 100 is part of that preparation and helps students develop career competencies such as reading, critical thinking, and writing strategies. Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to: 1. Read and respond to college-level texts. 2. Compose college-level writing. 3. Conduct research on a topic of your choice. 4. Make an informed argument about a current topic. Goals: This assignment will help students meet the following Student Learning Objectives, as stated on the course syllabus: 1. Compose a focused essay that consistently and fully develops a clear thesis. 2. Use sufficient information from outside sources to develop their essays. 3. Integrate information and ideas from sources effectively in their own writing. 4. Conform to the conventions of the MLA documentation system. Kuhn Spring 2019 Requirements & Deadlines: 1. Submit Draft to NetTutor: Wednesday, 4/17 2. NetTutor Draft: Monday, 4/22 3. Self-Assessment: Monday 4/22 4. Final Draft: Wednesday, 4/24 Task: Begin by selecting a particular single story. Your essay should answer the following question: Where did your single story originate/come from? Who/what contributes to its continuous spread? Who confirms or challenges it? In what ways is it incomplete? What else should be known about this single story? More Specifically: • Your essay should identify a “single story” about a person, place or event. • Your essay should include research on the possible origin of the single story. Who created it and why? Your job is to look into the historical context from which the single story emerged? • Your essay should also address and discuss how and by whom this single story is spread or validated? • Finally, your essay should address how this single story is currently or can be broadened or completed. • Your essay should include five (5) credible sources that you select. 1. At least three (3) sources must be located through the library’s databases 2. One (1) of the sources can be interviews with people who have knowledge of the topic. • Your essay should be well-structured with a clear beginning, middle, and end. • Below is a list of components to include: 1. Introduction: introduce and familiarize your reader with the single story you plan to tackle/analyze/complicate 2. Literature review: research the origin of your chosen single story. 3. Argument: provide examples of what is missing from the mainstream representation of your chosen single story and analysis of the way it is incomplete 4. Conclusion: explain the significance of the work you have just completed. Why is it important that we talk about single stories? What is the value of finding ways to challenge the single story? NOTE: Since you are citing sources, don’t forget your Works Cited page
