criminal justice class essay

Topic:

Should selling and trading sex be criminalized, decriminalized or legalized, and why?

please reading the five readings I have attached, and apply the writing to the essay

Draw on our assigned readings to answer this question in a 3-5 page (double spaced in 12-point font) persuasive essay. Your essay must summarize, analyze and evaluate different policy approaches to the legal regulation of the sex trade which you can find from the readings. This means, you have to define each approach and how it affects specific groups of people, and explain your evaluation of the models you think are harmful or helpful. You should specify the effects of your preferred model vs. other models of legal regulation on particular groups, for example youth under 18, transgender people, adults, or survivors of trafficking. You will not be graded based on the position you take, but on how persuasively you make your argument. Your paper should have the following components:

1) An introduction that explains why this is an important policy issue and states your position in the form of a clear thesis statement.

2) An analysis and critique of opposing perspectives in the debate about criminalization, legalization and decriminalization of selling or trading sex

3) A strong thesis statement answering the question of whether selling or trading sex independently or with a manager should be criminalized, legalized, or decriminalized for people in the sex trade and whether buying sexual services should be criminalized, legalized or decriminalized for their clients and why, and

4) Clear sub-claims and compelling evidence from the course readings to support your argument throughout the paper.

5) Proper citation for direct quotes as well as paraphrased passages from the reading. (Please see handout on citation, quotation and paraphrasing.) Make sure to refer to at least 5 assigned readings for this class from the 2nd half of the semester.

6) A strong, compelling conclusion that reviews your argument and discusses the broader implications.

short essay with modern history of china and the united states

analyze and interpret a PRIMARY SOURCE text and draw historical conclusions from it. In other words, you are being asked to describe what the text says, and explain briefly what can be learned from it or why it is significant historically. (Note what we can conclude historically from a text may be different from what the author and her/his audience might have concluded from it in their own time).

1) Consider who the author is, when writing, and for what purpose. Think about these factors might have affected what the author wrote. What are the goal(s) and perspectives of the author, and what is his/her relationship to the intended audience?

2) Evaluate the limitations and/or biases of the text. How far can we trust what it is saying? In what ways might it be misleading?

As you write your analysis, you should:

1) Describe or summarize the text: briefly tell us what you think the author is trying to say, what his/her intended message was.

2) Analyze or interpret the text. Explain what you think we can learn from the text about the attitudes or beliefs of the author/audience. What assumptions does the author make? What values does s/he espouse? How does the text give us new information or otherwise help us understand the issues we are studying in this course, or the time period of the author?

Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.
  3. Construct a process flow diagram to illustrate the process(es) for determining if / when notification of the incident should be relayed to upper management, and explain how those communications should be structured and relayed through the use of graphical tools in Visio, or an open source alternative such as Dia.
