The Theoretical Foundation section of a research study is often one of the most challenging components to create. It is informed by the historical context as described in the Background to the Problem section. In this assignment, you will connect the Background to the Problem with theories, models, and concepts to develop the Theoretical Foundation for your research study.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

  • Refer to the Background to the Problem that you submitted as your response to the first discussion question in Topic 5.
  • Instructors will be using a grading rubric to grade the assignments. It is recommended that learners review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment in order to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.
  • Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.

Directions:

Locate the Background to the Problem that you submitted as your response to the first discussion question in Topic 5.

Write a draft (750-1,000 words) of the Theoretical Foundation (a theory, model, law, or concept underpinning the study) for your research study. The draft should include the following:

  1. The study’s problem statement resulting from the defined need or gap. This can be taken from the Background to the Problem section that you drafted earlier.
  2. A definition and description of each of the theories, models, laws, or concepts that will be the basis for the Theoretical Foundation of the study. Support these ideas with seminal sources.
  3. The phenomena and research questions (qualitative studies) or the variables and hypotheses (quantitative studies) for the study.
  4. A discussion of how the theory, model, law, or concept undergirds and connects to the research study.

Rubric:

The problem statement is present and well connected to the research gap.

Definitions and descriptions of each of the theories, models, laws, or concepts to be used are present, meaningful, and well connected to the intended study.

The phenomena and research questions or the variables and hypotheses for the study are present and connect well to the problem statement.

A discussion of how the theory, model, law, or concept undergirds and connects to the research study is present, thorough, and well supported.

Thesis and/or main claim are clear and comprehensive; the essence of the paper is contained within the thesis.

Writer is clearly in command of standard, written, academic English.

The document is correctly formatted. In-text citations and a reference page are complete and correct. The documentation of cited sources is free of error.

economic growth discussion question

Economic growth may be attained when either aggregate demand or aggregate supply shifts to the right. Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapter 15 from the course text, especially examining Section 15.2, and respond to the following components:

  • What are the different effects between aggregate demand-based growth and aggregate supply-based growth?
  • What may shift aggregate supply to the right? Thoroughly explain its process.
  • As a policy maker, would you prefer the strategies of aggregate supply-based economic growth or aggregate demand-based growth? Why or why not?
  • As a proponent of either aggregate supply-based growth strategies or aggregate demand-based growth strategies, what would you recommend for the current U.S. economy to achieve stable economic growth?

Your initial post should be a minimum of 300 words.

assume you are a correctional psychologist working at a high security institution i e a united states penitentiary aka a usp

Assume you are a correctional psychologist working at a high security institution (i.e., a United States Penitentiary, aka a USP). You conduct routine Special Housing Unit (SHU) rounds and encounter an inmate who requests psychological services. He explains he has been in the SHU for approximately four months and describes feeling anxious. Upon further inquiry, he reveals he “feels anxious” about when he will be released from the SHU. Considering the material presented in your readings and the learning module/lecture, what clinical issues would you want to consider prior to providing services? Ethical issues? Security concerns?

operations-management-creating-an-internal-assessment-survey

Instructions

Presently, your multinational organization uses steel at locations across the U.S. and globally with operations in Mexico, Russia, India, and China. Your boss is tasked with developing a global Request for Proposal (RFP) for gathering and comparing steel suppliers. In preparation for his RFP, he has tasked you with building an internal data collection tool to identify key questions to include within the RFP. The purpose of your survey is to identify all key information that is needed for the RFP, and the data collection tool will be sent to managers across the U.S. and globe. The data collection tool is a survey administered through email. Furthermore, the tool must contain a maximum of 10 questions and include the following:

  • Cost
  • Volume
  • Locations
  • Safety

Your job is to develop the project plan for the execution of the data collection tool. The project plan needs to include milestones, key events associated with creating an RFP, and corresponding dates. The time allotment from start to finish for this project by your boss is three months. Additionally, standard templates need to be built that support the project plan, including an action list, meeting minutes, and a risk management tool.

Tapped is a video that really hits on the multiple levels of toxic exposure that is associated with our food system in terms of pollutants, manufacturing, waste, and exposure. The toxins issues have been interwoven into all of the other subjects so you may get a question in the environmental section or even in the GMO’s with regards to an example of environmental toxins or damage to the environment specifically from this movie.

Tapped (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.Tapped

1. How has the bottled water industry affected the municipal drinking water. Please include an example from the reference on Flint Michigan in your answer.

2. According to the video, what are the environmental and health ramifications associated with the manufacturing of the plastic bottles?

3. What are BPA’s and how do they affect our health based on the video?

4. What are the ramifications of the increased waste in the environment in terms of the oceans (please give 3 specific examples from the video)?

5. Based on all of this information, what are your thoughts on the waste, especially with regards to single use containers, with in the entire food system. Please give 3 examples to support your answer.

peripheral vascular disease case studies

Peripheral Vascular Disease

Case Studies

A 52-year-old man complained of pain and cramping in his right calf caused by walking two blocks. The pain was relieved with cessation of activity. The pain had been increasing in frequency and intensity. Physical examination findings were essentially normal except for decreased hair on the right leg. The patient’s popliteal, dorsalis pedis, and posterior tibial pulses were markedly decreased compared with those of his left leg.

Studies Results Routine laboratory work Within normal limits (WNL) Doppler ultrasound systolic pressures Femoral: 130 mm Hg; popliteal: 90 mm Hg; posterior tibial: 88 mm Hg; dorsalis pedis: 88 mm Hg (normal: same as brachial systolic blood pressure) Arterial plethysmography Decreased amplitude of distal femoral, popliteal, dorsalis pedis, and posterior tibial pulse waves Femoral arteriography of right leg Obstruction of the femoral artery at the midthigh level Arterial duplex scan Apparent arterial obstruction in the superficial femoral artery

Diagnostic Analysis

With the clinical picture of classic intermittent claudication, the noninvasive Doppler and plethysmographic arterial vascular study merely documented the presence and location of the arterial occlusion in the proximal femoral artery. Most vascular surgeons prefer arteriography to document the location of the vascular occlusion. The patient underwent a bypass from the proximal femoral artery to the popliteal artery. After surgery he was asymptomatic.

Critical Thinking Questions

1. What was the cause of this patient’s pain and cramping? 2. Why was there decreased hair on the patient’s right leg? 3. What would be the strategic physical assessments after surgery to determine the adequacy of the patient’s circulation? 4. What would be the treatment of intermittent Claudication for non-occlusion?
