develop a case study illustrating best practice application of an assessment measurement instrument used for early childhood participants

In Part 1 of this assignment, you will develop a case study illustrating best practice application of an assessment/measurement instrument used for early childhood participants.

In preparation for evaluation of the instrument in Module 2, you will select and describe a child who will serve as a target participant and a single published instrument of assessment or measurement appropriate to young children, including the target participant. The instrument should be specifically intended for one developmental level and topic area (for example, toddler and cognitive development).

Then you will locate, summarize, and compare the major points of at least three professional journal articles published in the last five years related to the assessment/measurement instrument or facets of the instrument.

Course Objectives • Explain the purposes of observation and assessment for young children • Identify guidelines for developmentally appropriate observation and assessment for young children. • Determine the appropriateness of observation and assessment tools for a specific purpose and developmental level.

Directions: 1) Save and print the Module 1 Analysis PDF. 2) Create a 3-page paper in a Word or text document for your response. Use 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font. 3) Use APA (6th edition) format for the title page, references page, and in-text citations. Use the part titles as subheadings. 4) Develop an introduction and conclusion for the paper. 5) Part 1: Particpant and Instrument Selection • Select a child who will serve as the target participant in the case study. Refer to the child by initial rather than name; for example, R instead of Robert or Child 1. Develop a profile of the participant. Include the child’s demographic, personal/home, and educational information. • Select a single published instrument of assessment/measurement appropriate to young children, including the target participant. The instrument should be for specific age group and evelopmental levels, such as toddler and cognitive development. Relate the target participant and your choice of the assessment/measurement instrument.

analyze the behavior of the men in this situation and explain the various factors that contributed to this tragic incident citing specific research studies whenever possible

Essay question:

Several years ago in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a woman was gang-raped on a pool table in the Big Dan Tavern. She had been drinking and flirting with several men during the evening, and when she tried to leave the bar, she was raped successively by several men, with other patrons cheering them on. Most of the men who participated were members of an emigrant group with very traditional values regarding gender roles

From what you have learned in the course about conformity, behavior in groups, gender roles, attribution theory, and aggression, analyze the behavior of the men in this situation and explain the various factors that contributed to this tragic incident, citing specific research studies whenever possible.

Identifying the Variables and Issues

For this assignment, provide a description of the problem statement and research question or hypothesis for your project.

On the basis of your project:

  • Identify the variables that you plan to test.
  • Specify one specific independent variable and one dependent variable, if your project is a hypothesis-testing project. Identify the hypothesis and variables that the program has been built around if you are evaluating a program or a policy.

For example, if you evaluate your local Big Brothers Big Sisters program, you could say that the program is built upon the hypothesis that positive role model mentoring has a positive impact on children from broken homes. The independent variable will be the presence of a Big Brother or Big Sister mentor, and the dependent variable will be the effect that the program has had on the child.
