PSY 2010 Discussion Board Unit III

My classmate wrote this and I have to comment on it

Ryan Reynold’s opened up that he developed many disorders while filming for his movie Deadpool. Ryan Reynold’s stated that there was too much pressure on being perfect and exceed expectations of the movie that he never slept. The pressure and expectations kept him up and when he slept he would sit straight up but not lay down. That is one chapter in the DSM-5 the Sleep-Wake Disorder, Anxiety Disorder of being perfect and Depressive Disorder about failing as an Actor. Many individuals and younger kids look up to celebrities and I think it is important for the celebrities to share their stories. Their stories can be heard globally and reach more people.

HCA 1301 Unit II Discussion Board Question

I have to comment or answer this that was written by one of my classmate:

It is important to have an understanding and use of these terms because this help to improve identification and ensure that the right part of a patient is being cared for. If these terms are not used appropriately and consistently what are some of the outcomes that can result? Does this have the potential to jeopardize patient care? Why or Why not?

HCA 301 Unit III Discussion Board Question

My classmate wrote this and I have to comment on it:

I honestly don`t feel that heart disease is a part of growing old. I think that it is all about how you take care of yourself. Some people have a heart disease because of the unhealthy eating, not exercising, smoking, or being overweight. I have a close friend who`s grandmother is 97 years old and her heart is perfectly fine. If you ask me it really just depends on how well you take care of yourself.

HCA 301 UNIT IV DISCUSSION BOARD QUESTION

Thinking about the medical terms that have been discussed in this unit, how do you think having a knowledge of them might be helpful in your personal life?

a company self examination what are we known for who do we want to become 4

Each of these four (4) companies (Fiat Chrysler, IBM, Burger King, and Old Spice) has been through numerous changes in recent years. For this assignment, select only one (1) company / brand. Use the information listed, as well as your own knowledge and research, to complete the provided situation analysis template. Additional research should include the use of the company’s Website, the course textbook, and other online sources.

journal article advanced stats

Must be able to open a PDF

Complete this assignment using the DAA template.

Step 1. Locate a scholarly journal article in the Library, preferably in your career specialization, that reports quantitative statistics. Although the article does not have to be based on a true experiment, it should report either a factorial ANOVA, a repeated measures ANOVA, multiple regression, dummy coded regression, or chi square.

Step 2. Write Section 1 of the DAA. Provide a context of the journal article. Include a definition of the specified variables and corresponding scales of measurement. Specify the sample size of the data set. If applicable, discuss why the journal article is relevant to your career specialization.

Step 3. Write Section 2 of the DAA. Discuss the assumptions of the statistical test used in the journal article. If possible, identify information in the article that indicates how these assumptions were tested. If no information on assumptions is provided, consider this as a limitation of the reported study.

Step 4. Write Section 3 of the DAA. Specify a research question related to the journal article. Articulate the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis. Specify the alpha level if it is provided in the article.

Step 5. Write section 4 of the DAA. Report the results of the statistical test using proper APA guidelines. This includes the statistical notation (e.g., F, b coefficient, χ2), the degrees of freedom, the statistical value of F, b coefficient, χ2, and the p¬-value. Also report the effect size and interpretation if one is provided. Interpret the test statistic against the null hypothesis.

Step 6. Write Section 5 of the DAA. Discuss the conclusions of the statistical test as it relates to the research question. Conclude with an analysis of the strengths and limitations of the study reported in the journal article.

question as follow

In another textbook, Introduction to World Religions, by Christopher Partridge, a claim is made about the religion(s) of Native American peoples. The claim is that “The tribal peoples of North America proclaim the One Great Spirit.” Your task in this homework assignment is to determine whether that is true or false given the evidence you have in our textbook, Invitation to World Religions, 2nd Edition. If you think it is true, you might give examples of different tribes and their beliefs, illustrating how they believe in the One Great Spirit. If you think the claim is false, you might give examples of different tribes and their beliefs, illustrating how they don’t believe in the One Great Spirit. You may need to interpret the name ‘One Great Spirit’ so that you and your reader (me and your peers) are clear on the claim. [You won’t be sharing these, but it helps to have an audience in mind.] In short, treat the claim as an hypothesis and set about confirming it or refuting it.

Submissions should be typed and should be between 200 and 300 words. Keep “fluff” to a minimum. Provide enough details to identify the group or tradition you’re talking about, but stick to the topic as best as you can.

Submissions will be analyzed using SafeAssign.

Submissions will be graded using the rubric in Course Materials and in accordance with the policies on your syllabus.

Outcomes: This assignment is particularly relevant to the following learning outcomes, among others:

(a) Attitudes: develop a sense of appreciation for multiculturalism.

(b) Skills: develop a critical and appreciative awareness of religious ideas and practices.

(c) Knowledge/Content: identify the basic ideas, practices and institutions of five or more different religions, and analyze similarities and differences between religions and within the varieties within each religion studied

one and half page psychology essay that talk about the following question

Follow is the question, please write an one and half pages essay that answer the following questions. Please read the question thoughtfully and make the essay looks like a college student writing. Do not need to be fancy.

Let’s Talk About Sex

So, how many of your parents sat you down and had “the talk?” When I ask this question in my classes on campus, I maybe get one or two hands in the air. Oftentimes, parents never had the “talk” given to them so they are afraid to have it with their own children and hence the cycle repeats. So now you have a chance to give the talk that you wish your parents would’ve given you. Bonus, you’ll be prepared when/if you become a parent yourself. So for this assignment, I’m asking you to write a one- to two-page “speech” which you would give to a thirteen-year-old about sex. Most students format the assignment as if they are writing to their future child. If you are a male student completing this assignment, please complete it thinking of how you would talk to your son someday (and vice versa if you are a female student).

Include a discussion of the following questions:

  • What is menstruation?
  • What are nocturnal emissions?
  • What is an orgasm?
  • How do you know when you are ready to have sex?
  • How do you know when you are in love?
  • Everyone else seems to be growing breasts, having their period and I’m not. Is there something wrong with me?
  • Every other guy in my class has grown a foot taller in the last year or so and I am still under five feet tall. Am I going to be a dwarf?
  • What exactly happens in puberty? Does everyone grow pubic hair? Does it hurt when your breasts grow?
  • I had sex with my boyfriend four times and I didn’t get pregnant. Does that mean I am sterile?
  • Other information you think that an adolescent should have.

Do NOT wimp out by just writing “I will answer any questions they have.” Try to anticipate what questions they have so you have an answer ready.

Also, just so you are prepared, think about this question… What are you going to tell your children when they ask about YOUR sex life, e.g., did YOU wait until you were married before having sex, etc?

You have three options:
A) You can tell them the truth. For some of you, who are just pure as the newly fallen snow that presents no difficulty. Other people will admit that they had a less than blameless youth but tell their children that they do not want them making the same mistakes. (This does not often meet with nearly as good a reception as you might expect. Many teenagers argue that they, too, need to make some mistakes.)
B) You can lie through your teeth and PRETEND that they were a product of the second virgin birth in two thousand years.
C) You can tell them it is none of their business. In case you are interested, I tend to go for a combination of A and C. I do point out to my children that, when I was younger, AIDS did not exist, so what we had to worry about was getting pregnant, while they have to worry about ending up dead.

The paper should be written in essay form (double spaced, APA format—although I am not a stickler on the formatting), assuming you are speaking to your son/daughter (no dialogue back and forth). I would like you to cover everything on the list that pertains to the sex of your “child” in the assignment. If you wish to cover topics on the list regarding the opposite sex, that is up to you (optional–not mandatory). No, you do not need to include citations from the text, however if you do, pls do cite the sources correctly. If you feel you have the basic gist of what the text explains regarding each topic, then no need to reference. Lastly, please DO NOT cut/paste your paper into the comments section of the dropbox on Canvas.

  2. The compound of your choice must be an organic compound. Please make sure you are able to answer the following questions regarding the compound of your choice. You may have difficulty answering the questions below if your compound of choice is complex. In this case, the simpler the better. In order to earn full credit, you must clearly label all protons and carbon atoms in your structure.
  3. Using your knowledge or the material covered in Weeks 1 – 6, your text books and the Internet answer the following questions regarding your compound.
    1. What is the name and structure of your compound? Please be sure to include the structure of your compound and not just the molecular formula.
    2. What is the major function group in your compound (Hint: Look at the ending of the name of your compound for a hint).
    3. List all of the other functional groups present in your compound.
    4. What is the HDI (Hydrogen Deficiency Index) for your compound?
    5. How many sets of non-equivalent protons are present in your compound?
    6. Please label all protons in your structure and indicate what would be the multiplicity of each set of non-equivalent protons in your compound (singlet, doublet, etc.)?
    7. How many peaks would you predict would appear in the Carbon-13 NMR spectrum? Please label all carbons in your structure.
    8. Which carbon atom in your compound would you predict would be the farthest downfield in your C-13 Spectrum?
    9. Pick at least two functional groups present in your compound and describe where they would appear in the IR spectrum of this compound. Please be sure to include the actual absorption frequencies in your discussion posting.
    10. What would be the m/z value for the molecular ion peak of your compound? Remember m/z values are whole numbers.
  4. Remember to site your sources in AMA style. Anything you post has to be rewritten in your own words. Do not cut and paste from another source and claim it as your own. Any posting that contains information word for word from another site will be considered to be plagiarized and will receive a grade of zero. Plagiarism is a violation of the Academic Integrity Statement and will be dealt with on an individual basis.
  5. Respond to at least two other students.
  6. Contribute to an ongoing discussion by responding to comments made to your posting or to comments made by other students to other postings.

Discussion: Assessment Tools

Assessment tools have two primary purposes: 1) to measure illness and diagnose clients, and 2) to measure a client’s response to treatment. Often, you will find that multiple assessment tools are designed to measure the same condition or response. Not all tools, however, are appropriate for use in all clinical situations. You must consider the strengths and weaknesses of each tool to select the appropriate assessment tool for your client. For this Discussion, as you examine the assessment tool assigned to you by the Course Instructor, consider its use in psychotherapy.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

STUDENTS WILL:
  • Analyze psychometric properties of assessment tools
  • Evaluate appropriate use of assessment tools in psychotherapy
  • Compare assessment tools used in psychotherapy

Note: By Day 1 of this week, the Course Instructor will assign you to an assessment tool that is used in psychotherapy.

To prepare:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources and reflect on the insights they provide.
  • Consider the asessment tool assigned to you by the Course Instructor.
  • Review the Library Course Guide in your Learning Resources for assistance in locating information on the assessment tool you were assigned.

Note: For this Discussion, you are required to complete your initial post before you will be able to view and respond to your colleagues’ postings. Begin by clicking on the “Post to Discussion Question” link and then select “Create Thread” to complete your initial post. Remember, once you click Submit, you cannot delete or edit your own posts, and cannot post anonymously. Please check your post carefully before clicking
Submit!

BY DAY 3

Post an explanation of the psychometric properties of the assessment tool you were assigned. Explain when it is appropriate to use this assessment tool with clients, including whether the tool can be used to evaluate the efficacy of psychopharmacologic medications. Support your approach with evidence-based literature.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ responses.

Week 2: Assessment and Diagnosis in Psychotherapy

“A sensitively crafted intake assessment can be a powerful therapeutic tool. It can establish rapport between patient and therapist, further the therapeutic alliance, alleviate anxiety, provide reassurance, and facilitate the flow of information necessary for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.”

—Pamela Bjorklund, clinical psychologist

Whether you are treating patients for physical ailments or clients for mental health issues, the assessment process is an inextricable part of health care. To properly diagnose clients and develop treatment plans, you must have a strong foundation in assessment. This includes a working knowledge of assessments that are available to aid in diagnosis, how to use these assessments, and how to select the most appropriate assessment based on a client’s presentation.

This week, as you explore assessment and diagnosis in psychotherapy, you examine assessment tools, including their psychometric properties and appropriate use. You also develop diagnoses for clients receiving psychotherapy and consider legal and ethical implications of counseling these clients.
