Attached is the scenario for this assignment 

The course scenario stated the following relative to this assignment: As happens on occasion, there were some factors that had an effect on company profits, but the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jared Smith, was in a position to focus on several internal strategic areas, including structure, work design, motivation, conflict, and company culture as a whole. To stay profitable, the company had to eliminate several management positions in an effort to flatten the organizational chart. Many of the responsibilities fell to the employees, and many people resisted the change.

As the economy recovers, CMA continues to rebuild. Since 2012, the company has been divided into a functional structure that includes four departments: Research and development (R&D), marketing, production, and finance. Each department is headed by a vice president who has responsibility over each of the functional areas. The company currently sells components to computer manufacturers. As technology continues to advance, the CMA R&D department and its vice president, Kevin Adams, are feeling pressure to keep up with the competition. However, because of the differentiation and separation between the departments, the CEO is concerned that communication is hampered.

You as the OB consultant had a training and development session about teams with the managers that went very well, so well that the participants expressed a desire to have some of the information that you discussed to be available in writing so they can reference it, as needed. One person wrote the following in the post-session questionnaire: The information I got during this training was very good. I’d like to have something I can read about the different types of workgroups and teams you talked about during the training session. Also, could you give us something that compares and contrasts the various types of teams? Jared, the CEO also wants your recommendation on which types of groups and teams you think would work most effectively at CMA.

Importance of Sleep on Mind-Body Overview: Begin the body of your paper with an overview of the importance of sleep on the mind-body connection. Your description can begin with a broad consideration related to sleep as an area of occupation. Write in the third person and include literature support or from the course content. 

Sleep Profile: Describe the sleep profile and its use by occupational therapy. Remember to include literature support. Discuss and reflect on what you learned by completing the sleep profile, such as obstacles, what you learned about yourself and sleep routine, habits (good, bad and ugly) and any surprises.

Sleep Routine and Hygiene: Describe changes, if any, for better-addressing sleep as an occupation. Synthesize the results and information from the sleep profile and describe a plan, routine or new habits for addressing sleep.

Mindfulness Overview: Give an overview of mindfulness and effects in the mind-body connection. Mention the benefits to mental health and well-being. Provide support from literature and course content.

Mindfulness in Practice: Give a thorough description of your experience with using mindfulness for four days. Identify whether you used sitting meditation, body scan or a combination of both. Reflecting on your notes, perceptions and analyzing your responses to mindfulness.

Mindfulness Effects on Mind-Body Connection: Discuss the benefits of mindfulness on mental health and well-being. Incorporate your opinion and experience with mindfulness, either in support or against the use of mindfulness. Provide support from literature and course content.

Conclusion: Summarize how the elements of this final assignment have influenced your thinking about the mind-body connection and effects on occupational performance. In one or two paragraphs, provide summative comments, including your thoughts about the value of the mind-body connection on occupational performance.

RE-7:  Remember that you don’t have to answer all the questions here.  It might be better to focus on just one or two.  The additional questions might still be useful to get you thinking, though, even if you don’t write about them.

Topic 1: Describe the roles a jeli plays in his community.  For whom does a jeli play, and what does he need to know in order to fulfill these responsibilities?   Why is he (sometimes she) sometimes resented?  How is a jeli compensated?  What are the most common instruments of jaliya, and what Hornbostel-Sachs instrument category and sub-category does each belong to?

Topic set 2: What particular structural quality of Twi language spoken by the Asante people allows an atumpan drummer to create “surrogate language” with his instrument(s)? What elements of culture does an atumpan drummer need to know in order to effectively use his drums to convey language that is meaningful to other Akan people?  On what occasions might the atumpan be used, and what different modes would an atumpan player play this set of drums in?  Why would an atumpan player have to be cautious about what he “says” with the drums? 

Describe some common elements in both the instrumentation and performance of West African drum orchestras.  Why are West African bell patterns almost always asymmetrical? Why does the material bells are made of play a role in the function the instrument has in many ensembles? How are musical structures created in drum orchestras in terms of density and repetition?
