SWOT helps you determine where you are in your industry or market. SWOT focuses on strength and weakness in the internal environment as well as opportunities and threats in the external environment.  SWOT can be used as a Gap Analysis to 1) understand what their current state is, 2) define specifically what the future state of becoming a solution selling organization would require, 3) identify the Gaps, and 4) build an action plan to evolve from current to future state. It can be used to assess places, competitors, businesses and even to do self assessments. Clearly shows the difference between internal ( strength/weaknesses ) and external ( opportunities/threats ) factors to help decision making.

         According to Billie Nordmeyer (performance gap and solution strategy), performance gaps can be defined as “a disparity that is found when the current performance of an organization is different from the desired performance that is being projected in accordance with regulations, standards or benchmarks” (Billie, 2015). An organization’s performance is gauged or measured by it’s ability to accomplish it’s goals and objectives in an operationally and financially effective and efficient way (Chris, performance gap analysis, 2015). A SWOT analysis helps in creating a strategic planning process by analyzing and identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats involved in an organizational structure both from the internal and external factors (SWOT Analysis, 2017). In-order to close the performance gaps in an organization, It’s very important to consider using the SWOT Analysis model or strategy, which involves; identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in creating a solution for the organizational problems.

In this module, we explore how sexual identity impacts the nature of friendship for all of us. With the legalization of gay marriages and rise of alternative unions, as well as the sociocultural prevalence of much wider acceptance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer identity definitions in society, we are witnessing expanded definitions, beliefs, and values regarding sexual self-identity and the dynamics of friendship.

Philosopher Michael Foucault argues that we have an opportunity to expand our understanding of friendship, beyond the state of the current realm, where our connections remain quite limited: “Society and the institutions which frame it have limited the possibility of relationships (to marriage) because a rich, relational world would be very complex to manage” (p. 207).

Grant Proposal

This week you will complete your modified common grant proposal. The proposal will include the following sections:

• A cover letter to introduce the nonprofit and grant program to the funder
• A summary of the grant project
• An appeal section that details how the program relates to the funder’s priorities
• A needs statement including data to support the community problem exists
• A one sentence goal statement
• Two objectives each with the required elements
• A project narrative that provides the details about the program
• An annual budget with budget justification and a cash flow budget
• A closing section
• A list of appendices

In week 3, you completed, the need statement, goal statement, two objectives, project narrative, and annual budget with budget justification. You also completed a cash flow budget but that budget does not have to be included in this assignment. You should revise the week 3 information based on your instructor’s feedback.

This week, you will complete the remaining sections:

• A cover letter to introduce the nonprofit and grant program to the funder
• A summary of the grant project
• An appeal section that details how the program relates to the funder’s priorities
• A closing section
• A list of appendices

Reference the grant’s RFP or instructions for information about whom to address the cover letter.

Use headings to clearly identify each section of the grant proposal.

The appeal section should provide information about how the grant program matches the funder’s interests or aligns with their funding priorities.

The closing should provide a brief recap of the project, thank the funder for their consideration of the proposal, repeat the contact information for a nonprofit representative, and include a signature section for a nonprofit representative.

Only a list of appropriate appendices needs to be included in the assignment not the actual appendices. The list should include the information a funder might want to review in addition to the information included in the proposal to make a decision about funding the grant program.

Combine the information revised based on feedback from week 3 with the new information written in week 5 to complete your grant proposal.
