• The video clip ‘The Baloney Detection Kit’ in the Webtext this week discusses the many ways in which an effective critical thinker assesses the claims made by others. Explain what you believe is the real difference between ‘science’ and ‘pseudoscience’.
• Examine the key reasons why so many people might seem to be attracted to more pseudoscience-type claims. Describe at least two (2) such claims that you have heard people make, and analyze the main reasons why such claims do or do not meet rigorous scientific methodology standards. Determine at least two (2) ways in which the material discussed this week has changed your own thinking.

This research paper is due on the 26th of October. My topic is breastfeeding. I would rather this topic not sound so much pursuasive, but I do want to be able to show all of the wonderful health benifiets of breastfeeding. I do not want to convey the message that formula feeding is in any way unhealthy or the “wrong” choice. My instructor is very insistant on the guidelines for our paper and presentation. PLEASE GO BY THE DOCUMENTS I HAVE UPLOADED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

We can determine if a project is successful by measuring key indicators. These indicators are determined before we begin the project, with initial measurements being called the baseline. Once the project is completed, and periodically thereafter, the measurements continue to be derived. This is a report card of sorts for the process being executed. 

What is outlined above seems to be a reasonable concept. It provides for a quantitative assessment of the quality and quantity of the service being provided. In concept, it takes personalities out of the assessment and can give the reviewer a clear picture of how well services are being provided.

One result of this type of measurement is that, once it is put into place personnel work to the specifics of the metrics being collected. At times working specifically to the metrics can result in unexpected results. The following article addresses this possibility.

When we establish the metrics we are going to use to monitor our processes, how can we make sure that the “big picture” results will not be adversely effected?

Post your audio ppt (not google slides) under discussion (activities tab) under your assigned day.  Quizzes will come from these ppt.  If you do not know how to do an audio ppt, google it!  It is very simple. 

1. Have color, pictures, etc. If you use graphic pictures, that is fine since this is a health class, but warn the audience before!

2. Although the ppt has no minimum, it does have a maximum of 5 minutes. 

3. Ensure you list & state:

a. what (define your item/procedure)

b. who (target market for procedure/item)

c. when (invented)

d. where (can get it done/bought)

e. why (would anyone choose to do this and also the dangers)

f. how (procedure is done/item is used & cost).

4. Introduce your name at beginning of presentation and must have references on last slide.

Chapter Eight (8): Information Governance and Legal Functions: According to the authors, Smallwood, Kahn, and Murphy, IG is perhaps one of the functional areas that impact legal functions most. Failure to meet them could be literally put an organization out of business or land executives in prison.   Privacy, security, records management, information technology (IT), and business management functions are very important.  However, the most significant aspect of all of these functions relates to legality and regulatory compliance from a critical perspective.  

Q1: When we take a close look at the author’s point of view, under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures (FRCP) amendments dating back to 1938 there has been governance and the discovery of evidence in lawsuits and other civil cases.  Please name and briefly discuss the three (3) reasons why corporations must proactively manage the e-discovery process?
