Now think about that same first week on the job in the context of experiential learning at a college-level. In a second paragraph, rewrite your first paragraph as a Learning Autobiography. Describe the specific skills, knowledge, and abilities you learned and demonstrated during that first week.

Animal Testing

Humans use animals for all sorts of things, like food, of course, and companionship. They harvest all sorts of animal products from wool and leather to glue and even heart valves. Animals are used for many different services: guard dogs, therapy animals, truffle-hunting pigs, polo ponies, and so on. In 1933, more than a dozen women went blind after using Lash Lure mascara (National Academy Press, 2004). The compounds in this product literally burned their eyes and resulted in blindness and even death in one case. This led to the use of animals for safety testing of cosmetics. Today, animal testing for safety and efficacy of drugs, sweeteners, food additives, and medical treatments is commonplace. These uses are controversial, however, not only because the animals may suffer during the process and are often euthanized at the end of a test, but because even closely related mammals do not respond to drugs or toxins the same way humans do much of the time. Mice models are often used for safety testing, but they may not be the best choice.

For this assessment, complete the following:

• Write a 4–6-page essay explaining the aesthetic principles expressed in visual arts and describe how they changed from the Baroque period through the early twentieth century. 
  • Which basic features were preserved through the centuries, and which changed dramatically?
  • How do you think artists choose which styles to employ in their own work?
• Consider how these styles are exemplified in commercial design during our own time. Collect eight or ten visual images from web sites and advertisements and explain how they incorporate traditional elements of visual design. 
  • Are our decisions to purchase items of clothing, jewelry, automobiles, appliances, and services influenced significantly by the visual forms in which they are presented?

Although your paper should offer a general thesis about the use of visual arts, much of the support you offer in its defense will involve details chosen from the specific examples you select. As you write, look for ways to tie everything together with your own view of the role that the visual arts continue to play in our everyday lives.

Healthcare is twice as much in any other country. If the healthcare sector was ranked as a country it would be the fifth largest according to economy in the world according to Investopedia. The cost of this financial burden is due to lost wages, higher premiums, taxes, and out of pocket expenses that cost more than $8,000. With all the money that is spent on healthcare it is ranked at number 37 in the healthcare system. Healthcare is expensive because of administrative cost, the cost of medicine, the practice of defensive medicine, the expensive mix of treatments that are used, staff wages and work rules, and branding based on the payer. The cost of healthcare can be reduced by saving money on medicine, keeping patients informed, lowering the number of medical test, increasing competition, and taking care of one’s own health because our daily activities such as our diet, alcohol, and smoking to name a few causes health issues.
