Review: The lesson 1 readings and chapter 1-3 of our textbook.

Compose: a 2-3 page Essay (minimum of 2 Full Pages of Narrative) following APA Style that describes a recent space mission (within the last 10 years) that you feel is important to current and future space operations. Be sure to address the following points:

• Introduction describing the basic mission information
• Describe the central elements of the space mission architecture (Figure 1-20)
• Describe how the nature of the space environment and its influence on the mission
• Conclude with your thoughts on the major contributions of this mission and how it may contribute to future missions

Your Essay must include at least 3 Scholarly References (one of which can be our textbook).

This Essay will contribute 10% toward your Final Grade.

Remember, all of our course essays will be written using APA Formatting. This means your paper should have 1″ margins on all sides, be double-spaced throughout, and list references with hanging indents.

While figures and tables with pictures, charts, or graphs are welcomed when they enhance your information, they DO NOT contribute to the minimum number of narrative pages required.

In-text citations MUST BE USED be used and have corresponding references in accordance with APA Style rules! Generally speaking, most every paragraph should have At Leastone in-text citation. Your essay must include at least 3 scholarly references.

Wikipedia IS NOT a scholarly source and is an inappropriate reference for college-level work.

A note on Direct Quotes. This is a college-level class. Direct quotes should be used sparingly (only when absolutely necessary to maintain the original meaning). Paraphrasing (with in-text citations) is preferred as this substantiates your thoughts and ideas while demonstrating your ability to analyze and evaluate the information you are researching while still crediting your sources (vs. your ability to copy and paste).

Remember, you are using APA Style. You should not have any footnotes (APA Style uses in-text citations) and only a reference list (no additional bibliography). Every citation listed in your text MUST have a corresponding reference on your reference page. In as such, every reference listed on your reference page should have at least 1 corresponding in-text citation!

Using South University Online Library or the Internet, research on a sexually transmitted disease (STD) policy of the state you reside in. Once you identify an STD policy from the state you reside in, visit your state health department or browse your state’s website and search for the STD policy you selected.

Next, write a research paper describing this public health policy analysis and background. The final paper should include the following:

• A title page
• An introduction of policy analysis in two to three paragraphs discussing the following:
  • Overview
  • Purpose

  • Health policy background (one page):
    • The state’s role in the policy-making process
    • The purpose of public health policy
  • Public health policy analysis five-step process discussing the following:
    • A problem statement (in the form of a question) (two paragraphs)
    • Background of a policy analysis provides factual information needed to understand the problem. Include economic issues of policy as well as regulatory policy (two pages).
    • The landscape section of a policy analysis identifies key stakeholders and describes the factors that are needed to analyze the problem. Write the landscape section on policy analysis. Include balance of patient rights versus protecting the population. Include any influence from government insurance programs. Your response should be of at least three pages
    • Options (three or four) to address the policy problem. Your response should be of at least three pages.
    • Recommendations section should clearly identify three options. Which of the three options is favored and why is it is preferred over the other ones. Your response should be of at least one page.
• A conclusion
  • Your conclusion (one page) should address the following main points:
    • Your recommendation and the reasoning behind it.
    • Summarize your findings.
    • Explain the barriers to implementing policy analysis process and how they could be overcome.

Your paper should be a minimum of 12- to 13-pages in a Microsoft Word document. You need a minimum of six scholarly sources for both in-text citations and citations on the reference page.

In a 2-3 page Ethical questions and issues arise at both the level of setting laws and policies and the level of deciding what to do where, those are indeterminate. For example: Which law or policy regarding justifiable breaches of confidentiality would best protect both the public health and the rights of persons with communicable diseases?
