Create a PowerPoint presentation that reviews four articles written in the last five years on sharing patient information in a cloud-based Health Information Exchange (HIE) and protecting patient health information that is shared. Be sure to demonstrate how health information systems and health information sharing helps healthcare organizations provide the increased access to healthcare planned by the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom. Discuss the use of telehealth and its role in supporting patient care. Your presentation should meet the following structural requirements:

Be 10 slides in length, with eight content slides in addition to the title slide and at least one reference slide (you may add as many reference slides as you need if you include more than 4 articles).

Provide support for your statements with in-text citations from a minimum of four scholarly articles in the speaker’s notes as well as the references slide. Two of these sources may be from the class readings, textbook, or lectures, but two must be external. The Saudi Digital Library is a good place to find these sources and should be your primary resource for conducting research.

Presentation notes are required for each slide and should be put in the speaker’s notes section of 100-150 words to support the slide content. These can be part of the presentation or delivered as a separate document. If you opt for the former, be aware that the presentation cannot be submitted in PDF format, which does not make notes visible to the instructor.

Week 9 Assignment

You have been asked to conduct a quantitative study on the potential correlation (link) between studying time and GPA.

Being that you are new to the research field, you need to understand the basic elements of quantitative research.

In 500-600 words, research and examine the key elements involved in conducting quantitative research. As you discuss the key elements, also examine the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative research.

In this work, you must use your text as a source. You must also use an additional two scholarly sources. This assignment must also be in APA format.

Things to keep in mind when reporting the results of a study using quantitative methods:

1. Explain the data collected and their statistical treatment as well as all relevant results in relation to the research problem you are investigating. Interpretation of results is not appropriate in this section.
2. Report unanticipated events that occurred during your data collection. Explain how the actual analysis differs from the planned analysis. Explain your handling of missing data and why any missing data does not undermine the validity of your analysis.
3. Explain the techniques you used to “clean” your data set.
4. Choose a minimally sufficient statistical procedure; provide a rationale for its use and a reference for it. Specify any computer programs used.
5. Describe the assumptions for each procedure and the steps you took to ensure that they were not violated.
6. When using inferential statistics, provide the descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, and sample sizes for each variable as well as the value of the test statistic, its direction, the degrees of freedom, and the significance level [report the actual p value].
7. Avoid inferring causality, particularly in nonrandomized designs or without further experimentation.
8. Use tables to provide exact values; use figures to convey global effects. Keep figures small in size; include graphic representations of confidence intervals whenever possible.
9. Always tell the reader what to look for in tables and figures.

Create a 10- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation, including detailed speaker notes, based on the techniques of the research process from Weeks Two and Three.

Include the following elements:

• Background: Summarize the article by explaining how the article applies to customer service or consumerism in health care. What effect has research had on consumers’ perspectives on health care?

• Methodology: Provide an overview of the scope of the study in the chosen article by explaining data collection and where to find the data. Describe the process used to determine validity and reliability of research findings to support evidence-based practices.

• Result: Differentiate between the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the data described in the article in terms of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, or both. Do you have enough information to make a decision on the effectiveness of the study?

Inquiry1 – After reading the following scenario decide whether Mr. Howe made the right decision in regard to his ailing wife. Describe the factors you considerd in in reaching your decision?

An elderly Florida man was in jail after he said he fatally shot his ailing wife because her medications were no longer affordable and she was in pain. William Howe, 86, was being held without bond after telling authorities that he had shot his wife in the head as she slept that morning in their home according to an affidavit. Mr. Howe called the 911 emergency line several hours after the fatal shooting. Howe told authorities that after the shooting he went to the kitchen for a cup of coffee, and called his daughters to tell them what he had done.

“I want to apologize I didn’t call earlier. I wanted to tell my kids what happened first,” Howe told authorities. Howe told authorities that he had been thinking of killing his wife, 84, for several days because she was in pain, the affidavit said. Howe said she had told him that she wanted to die in the past, and she had asked him to kill her, according to the affidavit.

A dispatcher at the County Sheriff’s Office said Howe remained in jail on a charge of first-degree, premeditated murder after an initial court appearance.

A local broadcaster reported that the couple had filed for bankruptcy in 2016 and that Carolyn Howe had been suffering from severe arthritis and other medical issues for at least 15 years. The AARP, a non-profit advocacy organization for people 50 years and older, said in a report last November that increasing costs for certain specialty prescription drugs have put them out of reach for many people and that Medicare does not necessarily make those drugs affordable. Authorities did not say what specific drugs Mrs. Howe was taking nor what kind of insurance the couple may have had. A search of records at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement does not show a prior criminal history for Mr. Howe.

Think about how the healthcare industry is impacted by economic factors as heavily as any other industry. Now that your project is complete, reflect on the relationships between economics, legislative changes, and policies and how these relationships are important to the overall delivery of healthcare systems. What steps can you take to become active in shaping economic legislation or policies that impact the healthcare industry? Consider how economics will inform the decision making in your current or future position.

In the second part of this journal assignment, compare what you thought you knew about the economics of healthcare with what you learned in the course and identify the significance (what it means to you professionally and/or personally). You might also identify what more you want to learn in relation to the economics of healthcare.
