Essay Instructions

There are 2 short essays which require you to apply the knowledge you have gained in a creative and subjective way. To submit your assignment, click on “Write Submission” and paste your text directly into the textbox. Do not upload document files. Each essay must be 150–200 words and include the word count in parentheses. You will submit a draft of each essay to be checked through SafeAssign. Submit your draft a few days before the final draft is due in order to receive feedback on it.

It is recommended that you read over the Essay Instructions before you view the assigned website or presentation so you can be formulating a strategy for the assignment as you proceed through the video. In your own words, describe what you think the values were that he was striving to communicate to his culture through his painting “The School of Athens.”

As an Advanced Practice Nurse, one of the many duties is to educate patients and family members on any acute or chronic medical problems. Education helps patient better care for themselves in order to prevent morbidity and mortality and to improve health and quality of life. This week you will spend at least 2 hours educating family and friends on some common endocrine or metabolic disorders. For example, if the person has diabetes, you will want to educate them on certain lifestyle modification, medication management, glucose testing, etc. Please make sure you include:

 

Disorder

1. Pathophysiology of disorder
2. Ensure that the education is clear enough for the patient and family to understand. Include the method or form of Education provided (could be via PowerPoint, demonstration with return demonstration, poster board, etc.)
3. Thoughts on how the patient and or family comprehended the type of education given.

Part 1 – Dimensions and Depth:

• You will often find vertical lines in the sides of doors, windows, columns, tree trunks, and the sides of a building.
• Horizontal lines are often found at the foundation of the building, above and below doors and windows, and in the horizon.
• Any straight line that is not vertical or horizontal will be diagonal.
• Curved lines appear in circular and rounded areas.
• Organic lines appear in natural objects, such as the landscape, people, animals, and treetops.

Directions:

• Take a photo, or find an image of, a building.
• Print this image on a piece of paper and, using colored markers or highlighters, pick out  and label the vertical, horizontal, diagonal, curved, and organic lines.
• After you have defined the lines, using colored markers or highlighters and where they are in the picture, look at which kind of line is most common.

In physics, energy is defined as the ability to do work. When most people think of energy, they think of electricity. The energy that is used to produce electricity is derived from a number of resources. Much of the energy used today is obtained from fossil fuels. However, these resources are limited. As a result, alternative and renewable resources are being explored for production of electricity.

Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, respond to the following:

• Discuss the scientific and technical concepts related to the uses of fossil fuels and renewable energy resources.
  • Consider how fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas are utilized for production of electricity.
  • Consider how alternative and renewable resources such as wind turbines, hydroelectric power, wave power, and geothermal energy are utilized to either produce electrical energy or provide an alternative to electricity consumption.
