Strategic management involves all the activities of the top management of any company. They are responsible for taking decisions that are in line with the goals of the company. They decide what actions to take in each scenario and whether the business requires some form of change or not. Managers in an organization are responsible for their various departments. Operations managers, on the other hand, are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that the various organizations within the company are working as efficiently as possible. As an IT professional, I would ensure that all the related hierarchies are working as efficiently as possible through technology. For instance, since the manager handle a large number of activities at any given time, a system that would document all the activities and one that would avail all the files that they need at a go would be very beneficial for an operations manager. A system that enables a human resources manager to manage all the employees at a go would also be a time-saver and would enable him or her to run his or her operations efficiently.
