Think about the three types of happiness positive psychologists identify in the video: “the ‘pleasant life’ which is filled with positive emotion, the ‘good life’ in which engagement in work and play makes time stand still, and the ‘meaningful life’ in which a person uses his or her character strengths in service to a larger effort” (“Positive Psychology,” par. 2).

c. Of these three, identify which type of happiness most speaks to you now.

d. Write a paragraph, briefly defining that type of happiness as you understand it and explain how it relates to your life. For example –

      • Why is it important?
      • How do you see yourself naturally drawn to it through your actions?
      • What efforts do you make to achieve this type of happiness?

e. Write a paragraph explaining how your life would be different if you achieved the type of happiness you want. Make your writing as concrete as possible with specific and vivid images.
