This assignment is built upon the discussion in class on social bots, their applications and trustworthy. Students are asked to digest and investigate further. Here are the problems.

  • Define “social bots”. There is no definitive answer yet. Please give your best thought
  • Classify social bots based on its functionality or technology
  • Discuss the pro and con of social bots.
  • Investigate to develop a social bot and its deployment network. It is a survey at this stage. We have mentioned and discussed various methods and tools to develop a bot application. We also understand that many new tools are up. A better approach is not to jump one tool but to make a survey.
  • Let us assume an application scenario of social bots is toward health and healthcare. Students need to develop a workflow to see what components needed.

Students are given three minutes in the next class to present their work. No need to use slides. The instructor will issue a point based on the report and the short presentation.
