I think that Maxfield is at least brushing up against some real issues here that need discussion, but I’m not sure I’m thrilled with how she makes her case.
What are her qualifications to write about food and nutrition (is this a fair question since she’s mostly making an argument about how we turn this in to a moral issue?)?
What are her arguments about Pollan and his assertions?
She cites 3 “academics” in her arguments about obesity. What is an academic? Is she right in labeling these 3 people as academics? What are their qualifications?
