Issue A
While great strides have been made in understanding psychopathy, we have only begun to scratch the surface in terms of preventing or intervening in it. A person who is uncaring, self-serving, manipulative and willing to violently offend against another for personal satisfaction is rare but highly dangerous. Absent a clear and unambiguous test to diagnose psychopathy (there are several tests that reveal its traits), what should be done with: A) a violent juvenile offender who demonstrates strong clinical signs of it AND B) a violent adult offender who demonstrates strong clinical signs of it? Explain with specificity and example.
