According to “Environmental Health” (2019); there are six main environmental influences related to health care:

  • “Outdoor Air Quality”
    • “Leads to premature death, cancer and long-term damage to respiratory and cardiovascular systems”
  • “Surface and Ground water quality”
    • “Mild to severe illness may occur”
  • “Toxic substances and hazardous wastes”
    • “Skin irritation and throat swelling”
  • “Homes and Communities”
    • “Further exposure to Indoor air pollution, among other issues”
  • “Infrastructure and Surveillance”
    • “If done properly – can contribute to exposure prevention”
