First Half Macro – Events & Policies:

Answer both of the following questions (5 full pages total), double-spaced and submitted as a single MS Word document file or saved in rich text format. No references or research is necessary for this paper, although you are encouraged to scan the news outlets; the outcomes should be based entirely on your own critical thinking perspectives as derived from the course material. [Please make sure NOT use any current events that were among the Case Studies in Modules or our Discussions!].

Steps involved:

Begin by underlining your purpose thesis statement in the first paragraph of each essay.
(2) Next use each succeeding paragraph to analyze a separate macroeconomic concept or theory which applies to your chosen topic & explain its relevance.
(3) Finally use your conclusion to show what you take away from each of the following topics:

Question 1. Select any current macroeconomic topic occurring during this quarter to analyze in light of the course material. Your choice of current events should not be topics closely associated with any of the other class Discussions or Case Studies.

Question 2. Choose from among any of your favorite two (2) Case Studies at the bottom of the weekly Modules. Use each paragraph to apply & compare / contrast as many of the macro-economic concepts as possible. Explain their relevance and applicability to what you have studied in the course.

Total Length: 5 full pages, double-spaced.

The paper will be graded based on these criteria:
+ Description of criterion: Appropriate underlined thesis statement for each essay. Clarity of writing, choice of relevant macro economic topics, contains logical assumptions which lead to reasonable outcomes & conclusions.
+ Description of criterion: Breadth of topics and depth of analysis. The paper avoids narrative description alone and goes beyond with rigorous macro economic exploration and ideas. Critical thinking perspectives with original and insightful analysis.
