Example: 1. a < x < b

Description:  The pizza for the office lunch party should arrive between 1:00 pm and 2:00pm. Inequality: 1:00pm ≤ x ≤ 2pm
Interval notation: [1:00pm, 2:00pm]

Example: 2.  x < b

Description: Grandma’s church bus transports no more than 26 parishioners per Sunday.
Inequality: x < 26
Interval notation: [26]

Example: 3 x > a

Description: My dental office charges more than $350.00 for crowns.
Inequality: x > $350.00  

Interval notation: [$350.00]

Example:  4.  x < a or x > b

Description: Uncle Bill’s physician advised him to take his medication before 8:00am or after 10:00pm. 

Inequality: x < 8:00am or x > 10:00pm  

Interval notation: [8:00am, 10:00pm]

Description: My eyelash tech only takes 5 appointments max per day.
Inequality:  x being 5 equal to or less than the amount of clients she can take in a day, a being any number equal to or less than 5.
Interval notation: [5, a]

Description: My boyfriend has 162 pairs of retro jordans, each pair usually  costs $150 or more.
Inequality: 150 equal to or greater than the next pair.
Interval notation: [150, b]

4.  150 > b  

Description: The height requirement for the rides at six flags is 42 inches. My little brother is only 2 inches, shorter than the height requirement, therefore he cannot ride the rides.
Inequality: 42in < 40in [ x being 40 which is less than, b which is 42]
Interval notation: [42 inches, 40 inches]

2.  Description: I just received an email saying my package has been sent and will be arriving Saturday between the hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm
Inequality: 12:00pm ≤ x ≤ 4:00pm [ 12 being a, xbeing the times in between the package can arrive, and b being the latest the package will arrive.
Interval notation: [12:00pm, 4:00pm]
